As a professionally registered Acupuncturist and Medical Herbalist, I am passionate about helping you understand this wonderful system of healthcare and using my skills to overcome your health problems. I always strive to work with existing health care providers, when appropriate, to achieve the best outcomes for my clients.
I incorporate Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, Cupping, Moxibustion, Dietary & Lifestyle Advice, and Qi Gong exercises in my treatments, depending on your individual requirements. These can be used separately or in combination depending on the condition.

My training, work experience and any achievement
I am a Registered Acupuncturist and Medical Herbalist having qualified with a double degree level (BHSc) in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine from the Southern School of Natural Therapies in Melbourne, Australia, which has the highest standards for Chinese Medicine qualifications and practice in the West. Following practice in Australia as a member of the Chinese Medicine Registration Board (CMRB) of Victoria, I recently relocated to the UK and am currently a council member of the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine (RCHM). This body regulates Chinese Medicine Practitioners and ensures the highest standards of care and professionalism within the industry.As part of my extensive training, I have studied many areas of western medicine including clinical anatomy & physiology, clinical diagnosis, pharmacology, counselling & psychology. I have also served clinical internships with Tran Nga and Steven Clavey, a world renowned specialist in the field of fertility and gynaecology.

My particular areas of interest are digestive disorders, gynecological issues, arthritic conditions and skin conditions. Stress and pain related disorders can be very effectively treated via acupuncture alone, but most complaints benefit from a combined approach with acupuncture and herbal medicine giving the best outcomes.

Went to see Martin recently with some muscular lower back pain. Had cupping and two acupuncture sessions. Great improvement and pain was relieved. Would recommend to others especially first timers. Very professional.
I was seen by Marin John following a car accident, which left me with lower/mid back pain. I attended my first session with a great deal of pain, unable to even stand straight. Following a very relaxing treatment, I was able to walk out with a great deal less pain, and feeling more positive. I must admit I was sceptical when I booked, but went with an open mind, boy am I glad I did. Much better way of being pain free, with out the need of medication, that has got to be a good thing...
I have seen a number of practitioners offering various treatments for sciatica, insomnia, anxiety and addiction issues. Martins work with me has proved to be the most efficacious, without a doubt. I am very happy to recommend him wholehearedly.
Martin John is amazing. He treated my son Louis when he was 7 years old. Louis suffered from mild - severe, chronic stomach pain since he was 2 years old. I had tried every therapeutic route possible both traditional and alternative but nothing worked and sometimes the treatment subscribed made the pain worse. I found Martin John online and booked an appointment with him. Within 2 weeks of Martin John treating Louis there was a significant improvement and within 1 month his stomach pain had completely cleared. Louis has now been living without pain for 10 months and has transformed into a happy-go-lucky little boy. Martin was professional, friendly and sensitive to Louis’s needs and fears throughout the course of the treatment; I cannot thank him or recommend him highly enough.

Absolutety brilliant! I went to Martin after having acupuncture with different person who I didn’t like. Because of that I felt a little bit reluctant. Few weeks later I can’t wait for an appointment. The herbal treatment makes you feel much better and the acupuncture itself is very relaxing. The atmosphere that Martin creates makes you relax even more. Very professional aproach.
Martin John Has treated me for osteo- and rheumatoid arthritis, and I am 100% satisfied with his caring professionalism and thoroughness. My mobility is restored, and I am now virtually painfree.A bonus is that there are no undesirable side-effects,such as those I experienced with medication given by the NHS.
